The Three Wise Men flooded the south of the island with magic for another year, visiting cities, towns and neighborhoods on the walks programmed by the royal groups before visiting the homes of the region at dawn. As in the rest of the island, the increase in infections in recent weeks conditioned the arrival of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar and there were no cavalcades, to avoid crowds, but different routes without stops in convertible cars. No sweets were distributed, nor were letters collected with the wishes of the little ones.
In Arona, the Reyes afternoon began at 3:00 p.m., with the mayor, José Julián Mena, welcoming Their Majesties in the hall of the Town Hall. There, together with the Councilor for Festivities, Pura Martín, they were given the “magic key” of the municipality. Immediately afterwards, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar got into their convertible cars and began a journey of more than five hours through all the neighborhoods.
In Adeje, the delegation traveled in classic cars from 4:00 p.m. As an advance party, a vehicle of the volunteer firefighters warned of the passage of the Kings well in advance so that the families could contemplate the passage of the procession.
The Kings began their walk in San Miguel de Abona at 11 in the morning. After leaving Guargacho, they toured all the neighborhoods until concluding around 7:00 p.m. in El Frontón. In the neighboring municipality of Granadilla, Their Majesties spent five hours greeting the boys and girls who came to meet them from the coast to the upper area of the municipality. After 7:00 p.m., the mayor, José Domingo Regalado, gave them the key so that they could access the houses in the municipality.
In Guía de Isora, the convertible cars began to circulate at 5:00 p.m. in El Pozo, El Jaral and Acojeja, and after visiting all the neighborhoods, they finished the round in the Guía town around 9:00 p.m. Meanwhile, in Santiago del Teide Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, started their round of visits in the Valle de Arriba and concluded it in Puerto Santiago late at night.
Arico was the earliest municipality. Its mayor, Sebastián Martín, handed over the keys at 10.30 am and, from there, the royal walk began.
Finally, in Fasnia the procession left Los Roques at 4.30 pm and almost six hours later it ended in the urban area.
