Magic in every corner of the north of Tenerife

The experience of January 5, 2021, marked by the restrictions it imposed and imposes the Covid-19 pandemic, allowed to discover another way to enjoy the visit of the three wise men that this Wednesday, January 5, 2022, a year later, it was repeated successfully. Without crowds and without large cavalcades, magic and illusion could be kept alive thanks to the simple caravans that brought the passage of Melchior Caspar and Balthazar to many more corners from the north of Tenerife. Again, seeing the Three Wise Men go by, even if only for a few seconds, served to fill the streets of towns, cities and neighborhoods with the joy of boys and girls.

As in 2021, no municipality missed the opportunity to walk the wise men in convertible vehicles through all its populated areas. Some in cars, some in vans, or even trucks. Different formats for an identical shared illusion. From Teno Alto to Tacoronte.

The Three Wise Men in La Orotava The day

In La Orotava, the Three Wise Men descended from Teide in the cable car, crossing the Villa de Arriba area until they reached the Villa de Arriba area, to the temple of San Juan, where they made a stop to worship the Child Jesus. And then they approached the Town Hall where the mayor received them, Francisco Linares, who gave them the magic key that opens all the homes in the municipality. Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar later began their journey of about 13 hours through all the nuclei of the town’s municipality, at around 9:00 am. They passed through Las Cuevas, Risco Caído, Los Frontons, Florida, Pino Alto, Pinolere, Aguamansa, Cañeño, Camino de Chasna, Benijos, Colombo, Los Pinos, Camino Polo, La Piedad, Opuntia, La Vera, San Jerónimo, El Mayorazgo , San Miguel, Las Candias, La Luz, La Perdoma, San Antonio, Villa Arriba, Candelaria del Lomo, Lercaro, Mayorazgo, Carmenaty, the old town and La Cruz de la Cebolla.

The mayor of Los Realejos, Manuel Dominguez, and the mayor of Fiestas, Jose David Cabrera, the Three Wise Men from the East received their majesties upon their arrival in the municipality through La Corona. After getting off their camels and seeing the town from this natural balcony of the Valley, they received the magic key that opens all the doors of the royal homes. Until 9:00 p.m., when they staged Adoration of the Child Jesus in Tigaiga, they passed through almost two hundred streets, avenues and roads climbed in three volkswagen beetles.

The Three Wise Men in Los Realejos The day

Icod de los Vinos did a live broadcast of the entire route, in convertible cars, through the nuclei of the City of Drago, with the support of Alegría de Canarias. Due to the size and dispersion of the population, the journey began shortly after nine in the morning in Puente La Guancha and La Florida, and ended after nine in the evening on Chincanayros avenues and San Agustín. It was more than twelve hours of real travel.

The Magi in Icod The day

In Los Silos, left at 5:00 p.m. from Erjos in three convertible cars and continued to Tierra del Trigo, San Bernardo, San José, Fátima, Aregume and el casco, where they finished their route after nine o’clock at night. In Buenavista, the kings left Masca at four in the afternoon and ended their tour in Barrio Nuevo. For more than four hours they passed through places such as Teno Alto, Los Carrizales, Las Portelas, El Palmar, Triana or el casco, with stops near the homes of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, El Molino and El Tiznado.

The Three Wise Men in Santa Úrsula The day

The Kings also passed through The tank, from the old town to San José de los Llanos; San Juan de la Rambla; La Guancha; Santa Úrsula; The victory; La Matanza, El Sauzal, or Tacoronte.
