Alert level 3 for COVID-19 and the increase in infections in recent weeks will determine, another year, the arrival of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar to the southern municipalities of the Island. However, the municipalities prepare different receptions in which the royal rides in convertible cars will predominate. It is recommended, as far as possible, to follow them from balconies and windows.
In Arona, this morning a coordination and security meeting has been called to give approval to the planned events, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the delivery of the keys to the municipality to the Three Wise Men in the plenary hall of the City Council. From there, a tour in vehicles will begin, escorted by the Local Police and Civil Protection, through the different nuclei of the municipality to end at 8:00 p.m. at the Los Cristianos Cultural Center, where no act is planned to avoid crowds of public.
In Adeje, the delegation, which will travel in classic cars, will depart at 4:00 p.m. and the journey will be made without stops. A vehicle of the volunteer firefighters will advance warning of the passage of the Kings through the neighborhoods with enough time so that families can approach the area near their home in advance or can witness it from the balcony. The journey is expected to last between four and five hours.
San Miguel de Abona also bets on convertible cars, although the Kings will get up early in this municipality to greet the boys and girls. The tour will begin at 11.00 am in Guargacho and after visiting all the neighborhoods, it will conclude around 6.30 pm at El Frontón. The City Council recommends seeing the passage of the Magi from the East from balconies, doors and windows.
Four hours, between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., the Kings will use to tour the neighborhoods of Granadilla de Abona. The City Council has reported that no stops will be made, nor will letters be collected, nor will candy be distributed. At 7:00 p.m., the institutional platforms will broadcast the delivery to the Kings by the mayor of the magic key that opens all the houses in the municipality.
In Guía de Isora, the convertible cars will begin to circulate at 5:00 p.m. in El Pozo, El Jaral and Acojeja, and after visiting all the neighborhoods they will end the round in the Guía town at 9:00 p.m., according to the schedules provided by the City Council, which remembers that the Kings will not stop to take pictures or collect letters or distribute sweets.
As in the rest of the municipalities, in Santiago del Teide there will not be a Cavalcade but a real walk. Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will travel in vehicles throughout the municipality in a descending direction. The start is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in the Valle de Arriba and its conclusion is announced for 7:15 p.m. in Puerto Santiago. The City Council warns that in order to see the route of the royal procession it will be mandatory to wear masks and maintain a safety distance.
Finally, Arico will hand over the keys to the Three Wise Men from the hands of their mayor at 10.30 a.m. at the Town Hall and from there the tour of all the neighborhoods will begin in a double shift: at 11, starting from El Río, and from 16.00, starting in Arico Nuevo.
