The Canary Islands closed the year with 4,426 new contagions and eight deaths by covid, as provisionally advanced by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands this Friday. The total of active cases amounts to 44,749 (+3690) after also adding 728 registrations on the last day of 2021.
The total accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 153,472 and there are currently 425 hospitalized, of which 64 are admitted to the ICU and 361 remain in the ward. In the last hours it has been notified the death of eight people: four in Tenerife, three in Gran Canaria and one in Lanzarote, pending validation by Public Health.
The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 1,103.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days in the 1,802.29 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
By islands, Tenerife add today 2,370 cases with a total of 77,497 cases accumulated and 25,639 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 54,592 accumulated cases, 1,370 more than the previous day and 13,734 active. Lanzarote adds 315 new cases with 10,324 accumulated and 1,899 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 7,193 accumulated cases, with 116 new cases and 1,899 active. La Palma adds 215 new positives so it has 2,374 accumulated and 855 active. La Gomera adds 24 new cases, so it has 833 and its assets are 280 and El Hierro adds 16 new positives, so its accumulated are 652 and it has 141 active cases.
To date, a total of 2,754,601 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 20,945 correspond to yesterday.
