Several calls alerted the Canary Islands Government Emergency and Security Coordinated Center (CECOES 1-1-2) in the early hours of this Friday, December 31, that a man was walking on the South Highway. Tragically, the individual was run over at around 1:44 a.m. and died after presenting injuries incompatible with life.
The events took place on the TF-1 as it passed through San Miguel de Abona, at the height of PK62, heading south, and the driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old young man, was also injured in the incident. Initial care presented mild head trauma, for which he was transferred by basic life support ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to the Quirón Hospital. His co-pilot was treated on site and refused the transfer to a health center.
In addition to the SUC, the Tenerife Fire Brigade, the Civil Guard and Road Maintenance also appeared at the scene.
