The Minister of Public Works of the Government of the Canary Islands, Sebastián Franquis, and the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, will attend this morning the partial inauguration of the new Oroteanda junction, next to the South highway. The event will also be attended by the general director of Road Infrastructure, José Luis Delgado, and the mayor of San Miguel de Abona, Arturo González.

This measure will alleviate traffic saturation in the area. From the Oroteanda roundabout, four branches (two entrances and two exits) will be connected to the trunk of the highway. Since last 23rd, vehicles have already circulated on one of these roads, the one that connects the highway with Guargacho, Las Rosas and Las Galletas, without the need to use the Las Chafiras link, an early measure “to avoid queues on the hard shoulder of the TF-1 during the Christmas season, of great commercial activity “, said Delgado.

The president of the Círculo de Empresarios del Sur de Tenerife (CEST), Roberto Ucelay, considers the opening of the branch that connects with Las Galletas an “achievement” and highlighted the “significance” of the commissioning of the rest of the roads today, since They will “decongest” a “knot of connections”.

“The results of this action are fundamental for the South and for all the island’s citizens,” said Ucelay, who thanked the “correct management of the different administrations.”
