Santa Cruz de Tenerife welcomes the new year with a low sound impact pyrotechnic display that will cover the five districts, as fireworks will be launched simultaneously from different locations.
For the party councilor, Alfonso Cabello, “after the success achieved last year, we once again repeat a formula that visually encompasses the five districts, so that the joy of these parties will be closer to more people.” In this sense, the mayor recalls “that Santa Cruz is a city for everyone and for everyone, so low noise impact pyrotechnics will be used again.”
After the New Year’s chimes, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Autonomous Party Organization (Oafar), has planned five launch zones, one per district. Thus, to the usual location of the Plaza de España in the Centro-Ifara District, we add the Dársena Pesquera in the Anaga District and the parking lots of the Muelle de Añaza in the Southeastern District.
In the case of the Salud-La Salle District, the undeveloped land on José Antonio Escuder Street, on the corner of Las Cañadas Street, will be used for this purpose; and in the Ofra-Costa Sur District, the vicinity of the Juan XXIII Sports Center, located next to Calle Maestro Borguño, on the corner of Avenida Príncipes de España.
The current situation of sanitary restrictions led the City Council to desist in the organization of any type of party in the Plaza de España to say goodbye to the year, as was customary before the pandemic.
The same happened with the reception of the Three Wise Men at the stadium or the concerts planned within the Christmas program for more than 1,000 people, appointments that have been suspended.
What will also be repeated will be the royal commissions for the five districts on the evening of January 5, so that the little ones can see Their Majesties.
