SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Security and spokesman for the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez, announced this Wednesday that at the beginning of January the “de-escalation” of restrictions will begin on La Palma after the cessation of volcanic activity in Cumbre Vieja, where an area remains of exclusion and there are almost 7,000 people evacuated.
This was stated in the press conference after the Governing Council in which he pointed out that “the situation is the same” as in recent days, with the emergency red light in force and a “gas problem that persists” , especially in the southern area.
In fact, he has commented that the scientific committee meets daily but not the director, who does it more widely – this Thursday there will be a summit of both committees.
Pérez has also pointed out that work continues in the La Laguna area to open a section of a wash and recover a communication route but temperatures “are higher” and it is being done with “great caution.”
