The City Council of La Laguna will launch public works in the municipality through an investment plan that exceeds 11 million euros. This impulse for the execution of new actions and projects during 2022 -through the Department of Works, Infrastructures and Accessibility- translates into a growth of 65% compared to the previous year, when Chapter 6 of the area stood at 6,766. 520 euros. Of the 19.8 million that the Department will manage, 56% will be for investments, as reflected in the draft budget prepared by the local government, which will be submitted for approval in today’s plenary session.

With this item we want to “improve and increase public services and spaces in the different neighborhoods and towns of the municipality, paying special attention to those that are essential for citizenship,” said the mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez.

The mayor of Works, Josimar Hernández, explains that the 11 million will go to develop a program made up of “more than a hundred jobs and projects, such as those related to the conditioning of roads, accessibility and the reform, conditioning and improvement of areas public facilities and educational and sports facilities ”.

Apart from these objectives, it specifies that it also includes “the most urgent and pending interventions in the pluvial and sanitation networks of La Laguna.” Hernández, furthermore, anticipates that the investment program has been projected until 2024, “in order to give continuity to those works with execution deadlines that go beyond 2022”. In this way, to the 11 million already budgeted, 17 calculated for 2023 and 23 for 2024 are added, with a result of 52 million for three years.
