The explosion of coronavirus infections in Santa Cruz de Tenerife leaves alarming figures like the one we have known this same Tuesday: 1 in 25 chicharreros has COVID-19 right now thanks to the calculation made by Professor Irene González, who every day shares data and statistics of the pandemic on her Twitter account.
And it is that the situation in the Tenerife capital regarding COVID-19 is that right now there are 8,430 active cases, according to the latest data update provided by the Canary Islands Government Health Department.
What’s more, in the last 24 hours 838 chicharreros were infected with COVID-19 while only 177 people were discharged.
We must also regret the death of three people in the capital in just one day. And, unfortunately, since the pandemic began, a total of 308 people have died of the coronavirus in Santa Cruz.

Likewise, while currently 1 in 25 chicharreros is infected, it should be noted that 15.5% of the citizens of the capital have suffered from COVID at some point.
