The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has canceled the traditional reception of the Three Kings at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium in view of the restrictions due to the covid 3 alert level on the island.
There will be a reception at the stadium, but behind closed doors and broadcast by different audiovisual media, and then five royal groups will take a tour of the main streets and avenues of all the districts.
In a statement, the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, points out that the General Directorate of Public Health of the Government of the Canary Islands “makes us desist” from the organization of said show with the resolution that has been transferred to the local corporation.
In it, the regional Executive specifies that “this event would only be allowed with alert levels 1 and 2, so that at present, with the level of restrictions decreed, it is impossible to hold it”, wields the note from the City of Santa Cross.
Bermúdez abounds in that “the current situation of sanitary restrictions in Tenerife becomes a disallowance to be able to organize this event in the capital’s enclosure”, as it is not possible to exceed the capacity of 1,000 people in mass events, both in open and closed spaces.
The mayor indicates that “although we have done everything possible to maintain this traditional celebration, committed to magic and the illusion of the little ones, it will not be possible, but we guarantee that their SSMM the Three Wise Men will visit Santa Cruz”
