The Public Services area of the Santa Cruz City Council, led by Guillermo Díaz Guerra, has completed between October and November the improvement works included in the maintenance and conservation service of public schools, buildings and municipal offices for an amount of 528,272.11 euros, in the five districts of the city.

The first deputy mayor, Guillermo Díaz Guerra, pointed out that “it is very good news that in the last quarter a whole series of actions that were planned in schools and City Hall offices were carried out.” The mayor of Public Services said that “in many of these cases they were historical demands of the centers and associations themselves that had to be carried out to avoid further deterioration over time.”

Díaz Guerra explained that “these actions in the last quarter stem from a budget modification carried out in the middle of the year due to the continuous increase in demand for works and improvements, and it was covered with loans from Public Services.” In addition, he commented that “there are many actions to be carried out, some known as a result of the last rains, and it is expected that they can start throughout the first quarter of 2022”.

In the investment in public schools in the city, the rehabilitation of the roof of the CEIP Salamanca stands out, with a final cost of 55,540.99 euros, and the replacement of the CEIP San Andrés skylights, for an amount of 27,202.41 euros.

We must highlight the waterproofing of the roofs of CEIP San Andrés, for 71,621.90 euros, of CEIP Vistabella for 81,376.02 euros, and that of CEIP Onésimo Redondo, with an investment of 27,021.91 euros, a school in which they will change the skylights for 7,405.84 euros. In addition, several actions were carried out in the CEIP Isabel La Católica, such as, on the one hand, the rehabilitation of the façade, with a final cost of 62,730.76 euros, and, on the other, the rehabilitation of the exterior walls of the aforementioned center for an amount of 28,350.60 euros.

In the list of municipal dependencies, works such as the waterproofing of the terrace of the AAVV San Fernando Rey and the roof of the AAVV María Jiménez stand out, for amounts of 41,588.31 and 25,503.11 euros, respectively. As well as the rehabilitation of the façade of the AAVV May 26 for 48,191.43 euros and the skylight of the Autonomous Party Organization for a total amount of 72,471.69 euros.
