The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, fears the next “very tough months” due to the increase in Covid-19 infections, especially due to the new Omicron variant.
This has been expressed during the Plenary of the Canary Islands Parliament in which it has advanced that this Wednesday in the conference of presidents telematics will present “some measures” to face this period of new uncertainty.
Torres highlighted the degree of self-government that is being allowed to the autonomous communities in this crisis as well as that “never” had “so many funds and so quickly” arrived from the public.
The regional president considered that there has been a “good management” of the covid funds both from the regional executive and from the central government.
