SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The lava from the Cumbre Vieja volcano has already destroyed a total of 1,237.3 hectares, 10.5 more in the last 60 hours and with data collected until Tuesday at 07:00, according to the latest update of the Copernicus system.
In addition, up to 2,988 buildings have been destroyed, 78 more than after the last notification.
The latest report from the National Security Directorate (DSN) indicates that during this Wednesday the signs of exhaustion of the eruptive process continued, although a new rebound in strombolian activity and the emission of streams cannot be ruled out.
He adds that to end the eruption, the recorded and observable data must remain at current levels for ten days.
The maximum width of streams is estimated at 3,350 meters and the lava deltas maintain their extension at approximately 48.02 hectares.
