SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Governing Council of the Canary Islands has approved this Thursday the Annual Road Transport Inspection Plan for 2022.
This plan pursues important benefits for the sector, in conjunction with the island councils, to promote compliance with the regulations, not only by the companies in the sector, but also by all those users related to the activity of road transport on driving , fraud in the transport of goods or passengers, the regulation of road transport and unfair competition, among other aspects.
This plan establishes the general guidelines to unify criteria among the various regional administrations in order to standardize the inspection activity of road transport that corresponds to the island councils of the archipelago during the year 2022 and that they exercise in collaboration with the Civil Guard and the Corresponding local police.
Therefore, the Government indicates in a note, it is a unitary action that will encompass the island corporations and the Government of the Canary Islands to prevent situations of fraud from occurring in certain areas of the island territory due to lack of control.
The main actions are control over the performance of regular public transport services under the corresponding authorization; control of passenger transport by companies that carry out leisure and recreational tourist transport and rental of vehicles that circulate in a caravan; passenger transport in tourism vehicles and irregular public transport and control of the maintenance of the requirements for the granting of the authorization of discretionary public transport of goods and travelers.
