The Tenerife South airport launched his Acoustic Insulation Plan to soundproof more than 2,400 homes and buildings for sensitive use (health, educational and cultural) of their environment, provided they meet the conditions provided for it. The criteria that will be applied will coincide with those of the rest of the airport facilities where AENA carries out soundproofing actions. In the Canary Islands, there are currently five plans in the surroundings of the Tenerife North-City of La Laguna airports, Tenerife South, La Palma, Gran Canaria and César Manrique-Lanzarote, representing the largest number in a single autonomous community.
Yesterday, representatives of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco), the Government of the Canary Islands, municipalities of Arona, Granadilla de Abona and San Miguel de Abona and AENA. The objective was to set up the coordination group and initiate the actions planned to execute the Plan, which will be carried out in those properties located inside the acoustic easement area of this airport and whose building license is prior to April 4. June 2021, the date on which it was published by Royal Decree 364/2021.
At the first level of the Plan, AENA has already asked the affected municipalities for a census of homes that could meet the conditions set for their inclusion. Once this information is collected, The Office for the Management of Acoustic Insulation Plans contacts the neighbors to inform them of their right to request improvements in the acoustic insulation of their homes and the necessary procedures.
It should be remembered that AENA makes available to those affected the economic and human resources necessary to carry out these actions, so that the cost of the same is fully assumed by the company, the owners of the homes do not have to advance, or face any amount.
All those people interested in getting more information You can contact the Office for the Management of Acoustic Insulation Plans, through the telephone number 915 903 170 and / or your email address [email protected]. In this way, it collaborates in the economic development, the protection of the environment and the improvement of the quality of life of the residents in the surroundings of the airports, in cooperation with the administrations that manage the territory.
