SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports this Wednesday that the coronavirus outbreak detected in a nightclub in the south of Tenerife last Saturday already adds 47 positives, with a significant daily increase in cases.
In total, the Canary Islands are reporting 118 new outbreaks this week with 659 cases distributed as follows: 49 in Gran Canaria, 47 in Tenerife, 14 in Fuerteventura, four in Lanzarote, two in La Palma and two in La Gomera.
By area in which they have occurred, 38 are social, 35 family, 18 work, 16 educational, four sports, two health and two in socially vulnerable groups.
The most numerous outbreaks are eight, which exceed the figure of 10 infected people: that of the nightclub in the south of Tenerife; one health care center in Gran Canaria with 32 people notified in a disability care center with 14 users, two workers and the rest family members; one labor with 19 cases in Lanzarote; one sports related to soccer reported in Fuerteventura with 18 infected; a health one produced in the Hospital de La Candelaria with 16 cases (12 patients and 4 workers); a social one with 13 affected people in Tenerife; one with 13 infections in socially vulnerable groups in Gran Canaria, and one with 12 people involved reported in a pub in Tenerife.
Family outbreaks, all reported between families of different domiciles, range between three and six associated cases.
Likewise, social outbreaks have between three and six associated cases, except for one with nine cases in Gran Canaria, and the other two with 13 cases in a meeting and another with 12 in a pub, both in Tenerife.
Labor outbreaks also have between three and six associated cases, except for one with 19 infections that occurred on a birthday in Lanzarote, one with nine cases in Gran Canaria and another with seven positives reported in a La Palma store.
The 16 educational outbreaks, all with family branches, range between 3 and 5 cases, except for three in Tenerife (with 10, nine and eight cases) and one in Gran Canaria with seven positives.
FOUR SPORTS OUTBREAKS
The four sports outbreaks correspond to that of Fuerteventura with 14 cases linked to football, one in Tenerife in volleyball with four positives, one with four infections in Tenerife related to basketball and one with three infected linked to football in Tenerife.
Of the two health outbreaks, both reported at the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital, one has 16 positives (12 patients and four workers) and the other affects six people, of which four are workers and the rest are family members.
In addition, a social outbreak has been reported affecting HUC and La Candelaria Hospital workers, with 7 cases.
22 old outbreaks are also being monitored, among which, as one of the most numerous, one work with social and family ramification in Gran Canaria that has 49 cases, a health one with family work ramification reported in Hospiten Bellueve that affects 39 people, one socio-sanitary, family and social in the City of San Juan de Dios de Gran Canaria with 30 positives, and a social one in Gran Canaria that already has 24 positives.
