La Laguna sells more than 25,500 Trade Bonds in less than a month

The La Laguna Commerce Bond initiative, launched by the City Council’s Department of Commerce with the collaboration of the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (Fauca), has already sold, in less than a month since its launch on the basis of to the latest data from last Monday, a total of 25,512 titles, which will mean almost 765,400 euros in income for the businesses of the municipality, as announced by the councilor for the area, María José Roca.

In addition, more than 86% of the bonds acquired have already been used in their entirety, which means that 22,030 titles have already been exchanged in the establishments, for an amount of 660,932 euros. Likewise, more than 45% of participating establishments have already exhausted their limit of redeemable titles. These are data that demonstrate the success of the initiative, both in the number of people participating and in the use of titles. From the area they also highlighted that the payment of the amounts to the participating establishments is being made even before the expected period of 20 days.

María José Roca appreciated that “we have been surprised by the dizzying pace that the project has had from the beginning. This means that it really works ”. A project that, as he recalled, “comes from the merchants themselves, who are super happy and many who were unable to enter at the time, are writing to us to see if they can enter now or in subsequent phases.”

For all this, the councilor announced that, “if everything goes well, we want to remove it again next year, with improvements, especially in the sense of the computer application, we will assess it throughout next year.”

More than 270 self-employed workers, SMEs and micro-businesses in the municipality have joined this first initiative to support local trade in the lagoon. The amounts spent in each of the establishments have been successively paid to the merchants in three batches, the last today, standing out from the area that the establishments have received the payment of the vouchers between 5 and 19 days, maximum , from the first exchanges.

Last 15 days

From the Commerce Area and Fauca they also wanted to remind yesterday that there are already the last 15 days to acquire and exchange the Commerce Bonds of the municipality. The titles are sold at a single price of 15 euros and with a value to spend of 30 euros, and can be purchased, up to a maximum of ten per person, through the secure payment gateway enabled on the https campaign website : //bonocomerciolalaguna.com.

The value of each purchase, service or consumption will be discounted from the voucher until the 30 euros are exhausted and the campaign is in effect until December 31, without the right to return unused vouchers.

Comercio de La Laguna has allocated almost 800,000 euros to subsidize 50% of the cost of these titles, which would mean final sales revenue for the sector of 1.6 million.
