
Güímar, despite the problems with the Christmas lighting contest, has solved them and is already experiencing the Christmas festivities with intensity, with countless cultural events scheduled until January 5 and, above all, a wide commercial campaign that is giving something to talk about in the municipality, with no less than 40,000 euros – double that of last year – to be distributed among those consumers who make their purchases in the municipality, specifically, in the 80 establishments adhering to the initiative, by which The councilor of the area, Haridian Martín, has bet, who follows in the wake of the now mayor, Gustavo Pérez, and in his day councilor for Commerce, Employment and Tourism, areas that have had great importance in the Güimareros governments, as recognized by the councilor.
The Christmas campaign has already distributed 12,000 euros of the 40,000 that are included in the draws, after starting the draws on the 7th of this month.
To participate, you must get a ticket for every 15 euros of purchase in any of the 80 member companies. All of them are identified with a tree at their entrance. Subsequently, it must be deposited in the urn located in the Fonda Medina, from Monday to Saturday, and on Sundays, from 10:00 to 14:00, in the Farmer’s Market, in the Plaza de Santo Domingo. .
Every day there is a draw for ten ballots (2,000 euros) with gift vouchers worth 200 euros each. This amount must be spent in local stores until mid-March, specifically, until Father’s Day.
Haridian Martín explains that, “with this initiative, our idea is to support local businesses, because, as our mayor always emphasizes, small and medium-sized companies are our main generator of employment, being a stable business that has withstood the pandemic well.”
