The Cabildo de Tenerife opened yesterday the deadline to request the Tenerife Consumer Bonds with which the people who acquire them obtain a worth twice what they pay to spend in small shops and hospitality establishments of the island geography. In total, it is planned to issue 32,133 bonds that can be purchased through the website www.bonotenerife.es, in which the list of businesses adhered to the initiative is also available, which will be updated as new registrations occur.

The Councilor for Employment and Socioeconomic Development of the Cabildo, Carmen Luz Baso, pointed out that “the objective of this action is to encourage sales, especially during the Christmas season and part of the sales, and to help boost the activity of one of the sectors most important in terms of maintenance and job creation on the Island ”.

Carmen Luz Baso explained that this program “is part of the actions promoted by the Cabildo de Tenerife so that small and medium-sized companies, which represent more than 90% of the business fabric of Tenerife, have tools to improve their competitiveness.” In this sense, he highlighted the launch, in September of this year, of a new line of subsidies amounting to 775,000 euros, aimed at improving the competitiveness of the retail trade, the catering sector and personal services for the financial year .

The Tenerife Consumer Bonds program, which is managed through the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), has a total budget of 385,000 euros, with which 12,854 bonds will be issued for hospitality establishments and 19,279 for retail businesses and service providers. Each hospitality voucher will have a value of 15 euros, while for retail businesses and service providers it will be 10 euros. In both cases, the Cabildo de Tenerife will pay fifty percent of the value of the voucher, while the other half will correspond to pay it to the consumer.

The term to acquire the bonds will remain open until they are exhausted and the term to exchange them ends on January 16.

Each person may acquire a maximum of ten titles, in any of their types. The maximum number that can be used in the same establishment is two.
