SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A woman, for whom no further information is known, has been hospitalized in critical condition after being rescued from the sea in the municipality of Garachico, in Tenerife, as reported by the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (Cecoes) 1-1-2 .
The event occurred around 12:50 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert in which it was reported that a woman had fallen into the sea on La Consolación beach, in the El Guincho area.
A GES rescue helicopter, a sanitarized ambulance and a medicalized ambulance from the SUC, a doctor from the La Guancha Health Center, Civil Guard, Local Police, Maritime Rescue and Firefighters were activated by Cecoes.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter got off the aircraft, accessed the victim, proceeded to rescue her and hoisted her onto the aircraft. After verifying that he was in cardiorespiratory arrest, they performed resuscitation maneuvers on him during his evacuation to the La Guancha heli surface.
Once on the ground, the staff of a sanitarized ambulance of the SUC, together with a doctor from the Health Center of the area, confirmed that the affected woman remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, managing to recover her pulse, so they proceeded upon transfer to Hospital del Norte. From there, once stabilized, she was transferred in critical condition by medical ambulance to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.
The Local Police collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources and the Civil Guard instructed the appropriate procedures.
