The Tenerife Council, through the Roads and Mobility Area, will continue this week with the resurfacing works of the Autopista del Sur (TF-1) between kilometers 50.4 and 47.3 in the direction of Santa Cruz, so The entrance links to the Granadilla Industrial Park will be affected (51 and 52) and Chimiche / El Río / Las Maretas (52).
The councilor responsible for the Area, Enrique Arriaga, explained that the TF-1 resurfacing work employs about 90 people during the 14 months that the work lasts. In this way, as indicated, “the economic investment made to improve this infrastructure also has a social return, since it favors labor insertion in one of the sectors most affected during the economic crisis derived from the pandemic.”
Enrique Arriaga assured that this is “an example of how public investment can contribute effectively to the recovery of the economy, so that public administrations must bet on public bidding to improve the competitiveness of the economy while improving the infrastructures “.
This week’s work will be carried out between this Sunday and Friday, December 17, always at night, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. each day, to interfere as little as possible with the normal traffic of the road, as these are shorter hours. displacement density.
Traffic diversion
The diversion of traffic will cover a few kilometers before and after the work spaces and will be signaled by the Roads Area. Those vehicles that circulate in the direction of Santa Cruz and want to access the Polígono Industrial de Granadilla must continue until the junction of Tajao / Complejo Ambiental (46) to make a U-turn and return south to the destination.
On the other hand, drivers who circulate in the direction of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and want to access the centers of Chimiche, El Río or Las Maretas must also continue until the Tajao / Complejo Ambiental detour, make a U-turn and return south until Junction 49. Meanwhile, vehicles traveling towards the capital from the area of the Granadilla Industrial Estate have to make a U-turn at the San Isidro / El Médano junction (55).
If drivers come from Las Maretas to head north, they must first drive south to the San Isidro / El Médano junction and make the U-turn there.
These works are part of the TF-1 resurfacing plan that has been underway since last April and which includes an execution period of approximately 14 months. In total, the works, carried out by SACYR, will include about 40 kilometers of the road between Adeje and Arico.
