Carlos Alonso says that the situation on the island is “critical” and that there is no response capacity either in the PSOE or in Pedro Martín
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The nationalist group CC-PNC del Cabildo requests the redistribution of 72.6 million euros from the 2022 budget to meet the social needs of Tenerife.
The nationalist spokesman, Carlos Alonso, offered a press conference this Friday where he reported on the presentation of 110 amendments – one of them to the entirety that includes the return of the accounts – to the draft budgets for 2022, “since no they respond to the real needs of the population. “
In his opinion, “the situation in Tenerife is critical and we do not see a response from the PSOE or Pedro Martín.”
Alonso denounced the low implementation of the investments of the Social Health Infrastructure Plan carried out by the Institute of Social and Social Health Care (IASS), which has caused that not a single new position has been created and that demand has increased until the 7,100 people.
“Mr. Montero has resigned in the Government of the Canary Islands because he has not fulfilled the expectations regarding Dependency. Pedro Martín and Marian Franquet have not created a single new plaza in two and a half years and have even paralyzed the works of some infrastructures. I am waiting for there to be a reaction to this and for responsibilities to be clarified, “he stressed.
Carlos Alonso also pointed out as “alarming” the reduction of 8.5 million euros in the area of Employment and Socioeconomic Development, 8.4 million euros in Innovation and 3.4 million euros in Sports and assured that “the Cabildo is worse than two and a half years ago. “
In addition, he added that “to all this we must add the lack of planning for the next few years because they have not continued to develop the Strategic Framework for Island Development, which was planned for the 2016-2025 time frame.”
According to Alonso, “this has caused a disproportionate increase in nominative subsidies to municipalities, thus, of the 16 million euros awarded by hand, less than 20% are for non-socialist municipalities.”
IMBALANCE WITH GRANTS
For this reason, he has asked Pedro Martín to “redirect the situation because there is an imbalance in Tenerife, there are municipalities with a large population such as Santa Cruz or Arona that do not receive a single euro from these subsidies.”
Similarly, the nationalist spokesman criticized that there has been an unjustified increase in current spending of almost 10 million euros, which is almost 11% and is above the nominal growth of the budget and the island economy.
“That is, they spend more money but invest and mobilize the economy less. The Cabildo costs us all more, but they do less things,” he explained.
In this regard, he indicated that since the beginning of the mandate of the PSOE and Ciudadanos, current spending has increased by more than 20 million euros (+ 25%), while the execution of investments has dropped significantly.
