The municipality of Arafo will soon have a Municipal Emergency Plan (PEMU) that will reinforce security in the municipality, after long years of waiting, after the drafting of the project commissioned in September.
The Arafo City Council has taken the first steps to have this document, which has been subsidized with 15,000 euros by the Natural Environment and Safety Management area of the Cabildo.
“People’s safety is one of our priorities,” said Mayor Juan Ramón Martín, who added that, therefore, it is necessary “to have a document like this one that allows us to improve prevention and act correctly if necessary. to face emergencies that may occur ”.
The PEMU will establish the general organizational structure and the necessary operation of the available resources to face risk situations of any nature within the municipality. It is expected to have the document in the first six months of 2022, a period after which the information phase will continue for its correct approval and subsequent implementation.
