SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Governing Council of the Canary Islands held today has agreed to authorize the extension of the closing hours of those establishments and activities that, prior to the pandemic, did not have a closing time set or had a higher one for alert levels 1, 2 and 3.

The current hours and capacity were extended until December 15 through extensions of those set on September 30. In this way, the schedules and capacity are as follows in general: Level 1, the closing time is set at 04.00 hours and the outdoor capacity is 100% and 75% indoors; Level 2, the closing time is established at 03.00 hours and the outdoor capacity is 75% and 50% outdoors, and Level 3, the closing time is established at 02.00 hours and the outdoor capacity is 50% and indoors at 33%.

Likewise, it was agreed that these hours and capacity set for each level may be increased in those establishments and activities that make use of the request for the covid certificate, which will come into effect tomorrow in the Canary Islands. In this way, these establishments and activities will be able to benefit from what is established at the level lower than that of the island in question.

Hours and capacity available to establishments and activities that use the COVID certificate: Level 1, hours are unlimited, with 100% capacity both indoors and outdoors; Level 2, the hours are established until 04.00 hours, with a 100% capacity outdoors and 75% indoors, and Level 3, the hours are established until 03.00 hours, with a 75% capacity outdoors and with 50% indoors.

This modification will be applicable from 00.00 hours on December 15, 2021 until 24.00 hours on January 10, 2022, without prejudice to the possibility of extension depending on the epidemiological situation.

The modification of schedules and capacity responds to the existing epidemiological situation with a sustained rebound in the spread of SARS-CoV2, based on Decree Law 11/2021, of September 2, which states that the limiting measures that make up the different levels of Alerts may be temporarily raised or totally or partially modulated by the health authority in the territorial areas that is possible, depending on the epidemiological situation.
The proposal approved by the Governing Council also establishes that the consumption of food and beverages will be allowed in the gaming and betting establishments and venues during all opening hours.

Level 4

However, it is recalled that at alert level 4, which has not been modified by the Governing Council, the closing time of establishments is established at 1:00 a.m. and the maximum capacity allowed is 33% outdoors and 25% indoors. In the event that any island is at that level, the establishments that avail themselves of the use of the COVID certificate will be able to take advantage of the closure at 02.00 hours and the outdoor capacity of 50% and 33% indoors.

Although it has not been modified in today’s session, it is recalled that the current measure establishes the groups of people in spaces for public and private use, closed or outdoors, except living together in the following maximum number of people: Level 1, 12 people maximum, except in the case of cohabitants; Level 2, 8 people maximum, except in the case of cohabitants; Level 3, 6 people maximum, except in the case of cohabitants; Level 4, 6 people maximum, except in the case of cohabitants.

In the same way as in the case of capacity and hours, these limits remain, in the event that the COVID certificate is used, in the measures that prevail at the level immediately below that of the island in question.
