The Plenary of San Miguel de Abona rejection, with the votes of the municipal government (CC), the socialist proposal to undertake the comprehensive improvement of the public car parks in Aldea Blanca. This town suffers from a notable deficit in this matter since to its more than a thousand registered inhabitants (according to the National Institute of Statistics) we must add an endowment of two educational centers, an occupational center, a cultural center, funeral home, public squares, field football, bars, restaurants, cafes, leisure centers, aesthetics, food store, bookstore and pharmacy.
Carol Correa, councilor for the PSOE, complained to the government group “the reason why improvements have not been made in Aldea Blanca.” He assured that in this town “the purchase of public land to convert it into parking bags has not been planned either.” In his speech, the mayor was interested in knowing what project the local government ensures that he has and “why they have not executed it.”
In his analysis, he stated that «Public money cannot continue to be wasted on things that do not cover people’s basic needs, We cannot continue to reject proposals like the one we are presenting simply because we are told that they are already doing it, when it is evident that they are not doing it, because we continue to see that things are not being improved or money is allocated in the budget to improve them.
Along these lines, the socialist councilor established that «San Miguel de Abona’s needs, the real ones, are to increase parking in the areas with the greatest influx and demand, create the sanitation network, improve the drinking water supply network, more cleaning and security, improvements in sports facilities and change the recycling containers, to mention some basic ones that should be solved. The truth is that we do not see them, “he concluded.
