In Granadilla de Abona Christmas comes loaded with a wide program of activities, online and in person, Aimed at the entire population, it started on November 27 and will run until January 8. Around thirty initiatives were presented by the mayor, José Domingo Regalado, and the councilor for Culture and Festivities, Eudita Mendoza, in addition to making known the municipal Christmas carol, interpreted by Fabián Martín and with lyrics by Jhonny Oliva, through institutional digital platforms.
Regalado explained that the celebration of Christmas starts with events for the smallest of the house and that the objective is to reach all the nuclei through the Granadilla program in your neighborhood, for which he invited the population to join and enjoy the visit that the Three Wise Men will make in a caravan, the virtual New Year’s dance, the parades, the concerts, the free children’s playground, the ice rink or the traditional nativity scene exhibition. Finally, he recalled the importance of following current health recommendations.
Eudita Mendoza reported that, as it has been traditional, The New Year’s Eve for Children will take place on December 30, with bells and grapes, in addition to the fair With Christmas flavor, which will feature the presence of the artisan sector in San Isidro. He stressed that music will play a leading role with Christmas and New Year concerts, among others. All events of a face-to-face nature will have the relevant security measures and capacity control, prior registration through a digital platform that is already active on the municipal website.
As for the rest of the program, they include the dance show Once again, on December 11; the Gospel concert with the group Naturally, on the 12th; the Christmas concert of La Parranda Chasnera, on the 22nd; the classical New Year’s concert with the Imprevisto Quartet, on January 1 and the traditional nativity scene exhibition, at the entrance of the Town Hall. Christmas in your neighborhood will move to the different population centers from December 26 to January 3, while for the night of the end of the year, Friday December 31, a virtual festival has been prepared, at 23 12:00 hours, with a live performance on the platforms of the Tropin orchestra.
