The Mayor signs the start of the works to adapt the La Arena beachfront

The Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, accompanied by different members of the government group, members of the winning company and municipal technicians recently signed the act of initiation of the works to adapt the La Arena beachfront for which the City Council will invest more than € 344,099.88.

They will consist of the adaptation of the accessibility conditions of the public space, intervening, among other things, in the improvement of pedestrian routes, in the elimination of architectural barriers, in the improvement of the safety conditions of the pedestrian crossings, in the provision and adaptation of parking spaces for people with reduced mobility, in the replacement of urban furniture, tree grills, painting, etc. and in the installation of charging points for electric vehicles.

Their purpose is to solve functional problems associated, mainly, with public spaces and their inadequacy for accessibility purposes, such as pedestrian routes, crossings between pedestrian and vehicular routes, pedestrian areas, urban furniture, parking lots and signage, as well as aesthetic problems such as seats, lights, wastebaskets, planters and railings, handrails as well as other furniture elements.
