The Municipal Works area of San Juan de la Rambla announces the start of the repair of the facade of the Social Services building, located in San José, thus correcting the humidity problems of the parapet that surrounds the sloping roof, due to an undue accumulation of rainwater as it drains into the slab and the parapet.
In view of this, the third deputy mayor, Jonay Méndez, points out that “the solution adopted focuses on improving the exterior conditions of the property, thanks to the repair of the different elevations of the building, as well as the integral painting and roofing ». The councilor states that for this, The option is to repair fissures and cracks in the façade and to repair the joint between the vertical facing of the block wall and the exterior carpentry, which has been affected by successive leaks. In addition, it is considered the replacement of part of the cladding and baseboards of the building, the repair of the overhang in the most damaged area (north and west), the replacement of the damaged roof and the exterior painting on vertical and horizontal faces. On the other hand, black forging enamel paint will be applied to two layers on railings, bars and other elements.
Municipal heritage
The mayor of the Villa, Ezequiel Domínguez, recalls that the investment amounts to 19,255 euros, included in the Plan for the Protection and Improvement of Municipal Heritage, “which has carried out actions of a similar nature” in the Yellow House of San José, the improvement of the accessibility of the Casa de Los Pérez, the rescue and new use of the Mirador del Mazapé –converted into a leading shelter for hikers that will be under concession shortly–, the also rescue of the Casa Grande de Las Rosas, which is no longer a ruin at risk of disappearance, the project already underway to give tourist use to the Delgado Oramas house and the recent repair of the façade and roof of the central building of the Town Hall.
