Build a center for Early Childhood, Primary and first cycle of ESO and complete the health center in Llano del Camello, the Institute of Secondary Education (IES) Las Chafiras, improve the Caroflyers sports complex in the urban area, rehabilitate the waterfront Hoya del Gusanito and adapting the San Blas beach are demands of San Miguel de Abona that seek their place in the General Budgets of the Canary Islands for 2022.

These six actions add up to 6,940,000 euros contained in as many amendments that Coalición Canaria presents to the budget document. This was announced by the regional deputy and secretary of the Organization of the Tenerife nationalists, Rosa Dávila, after a meeting with the mayor, Arturo González.

One of the main demands is the improvement of educational infrastructures. The councilor explained that San Miguel “has had a strong demographic growth, especially in the coastal area, where all educational centers are clogged, so it is very urgent to build a Center for Infant and Primary Education in Llano of the Camel ». To do this, CC raises an amendment of 800,000 euros, for the construction in this area of Las Chafiras of an Institute of Early Childhood, Primary and First cycle of ESO.

Rosa Dávila announces that CC will present amendments to improve various infrastructures

Likewise, they are asking for one million euros to build the IES Las Chafiras, «work contained in the 2018-2025 Educational Infrastructure Plan, presented in November 2018, which contemplated the construction of 20 schools and institutes in the South of Tenerife, as well as well as an expansion of another 10 ”, recalled Dávila. The deputy values as insufficient the 150,000 euros for this of the 2021 budget and the 175,000 contemplated for 2022.

In health matters, both the mayor of San Miguel and the CC deputy demand that the Canary Islands Government resume “immediately” the works of the Llano del Camello health center, works with funding but paralyzed for a long time.

As a priority, they also contemplate 120,000 euros for the improvement of the Acroflyers sports facility in San Miguel. The mayor explained that the acrobatic gymnastics team has had to transfer their training and competitions to some facilities in Llano del Camello, assigned by the City Council. It is necessary to place a special floor with a coating of vertical walls and furniture.

The CC amendments also include 1.1 million euros to rehabilitate the Hoya del Gusanito waterfront. The Costa San Miguel Modernization Plan provides for the conditioning and rehabilitation of the municipality’s waterfront, which has more than 3,000 tourist beds. However, this entire coastline “does not have adequate access to the sea and poor mobility,” said Arturo González.

Finally, the Canary Islands Coalition will raise an item of 3.8 million euros for the adaptation of Playa de San Blas. “Our municipality has more than 3,000 tourist beds, but at the moment we do not have a sandy beach or an accessible beach,” said the mayor of San Miguel. For this reason, “it is necessary to condition this beach, along with that of San Salvador, which are the ones indicated to be rehabilitated in the Modernization Plan of the San Miguel de Abona Coast”, he stated.
