Regional Craft Fair
More than 137 artisans from all the Canary Islands come together in this new edition of the Regional Craft Fair, an event that takes place at the Tenerife Fairgrounds until next December 8.
The Fair will remain open in the great hall of the Fairgrounds until December 8 and It can be visited continuously from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and includes 74 stands on the island of Tenerife and 63 from the rest of the islands. Of them, 58% belong to women.
Full moon
16 spaces are the spaces in Santa Cruz de Tenerife where this new edition of Plenilunio takes place. The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has established a urban area with a great variety in its cultural offer, which ranged from the García Sanabria park to the Francisco La Roche avenue and from the Maritime park to the Almeyda Museum.
This Second day of Full Moon will continue with its programming from 11:00 to 00:00 in different parts of the city. Thus, the García Sanabria Park will host, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Le Good Market, with its trendy market, a wide gastronomic offer and gourmet spaces, while in the Plaza del Príncipe will continue with its circus activities during the morning section until 2:00 p.m. and musical performances from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
In the Alameda del Duque de Santa Elena will be followed by theatrical performances, both in the morning and in the afternoon; the Plaza de La Candelaria will repeat the day with the different activities for children and the toy library, with Dulcylin and Tragaluz Puppets.
What’s more, in the Plaza de España you will be able to live again a day with Canarian parrandas, the traditional market and exhibitionis, at the same time, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., while in the Market of Our Lady of Africa you can enjoy musical performances from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
In the Avenida Marítima, on Sunday he will stay with him Chicharrock Fest and with him Alisios Pop Festival, which will start at 9:00 p.m. and in which there will be previously several musical performances from 5:00 p.m., with a battle of roosters and the performance of Ni Un Pelo de Tonto.
Finally, some of the cultural activities in closed venues will continue on Sunday, being able to go through the history of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife by approaching the Casa del Carnaval, visiting the La Recova Art Center to learn about the exhibitions and retro games thanks to ‘Santa Cruz, the awakening of the retro’ or the Museum of Nature and Archeology.
Christmas lights and nativity scenes
The CajaCanarias Foundation has already inaugurated its traditional portal of Bethlehem in the Cultural Space of Santa Cruz of Tenerife (Plaza del Patriotismo, 1), as well as the innovative cardboard assembly that is exhibited annually in the Cultural Space located in Garachico. The two will be open to the public until next January 5, for free.
The visiting hours for the general public, regarding the nativity scene located in the CajaCanarias Cultural Space of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is established in two periods: from December 3 to 22 (both days inclusive) it will be open, from Monday to Friday, between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., while on Saturdays and Sundays, in addition, in the hours from 11:00 to 13:30, in addition to December 6, 7 and 8, on the occasion of the Constitution Bridge. From December 23 to January 5, for its part, the Portal will open its doors, from Monday to Sunday, in the morning and in the evening (11: 00-13: 30 and 17: 30-20: 00 hours), except for December 24 and 31, as well as January 5, the opening being limited to the morning slot.
With respect to planned schedule to visit the assembly designed for the CajaCanarias de Garachico Cultural Space, this is established from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00, from Monday to Saturday, in general, while on Sundays and holidays it will be closed.
Candelaria: Christmas has also come to this municipality with the Lighting of lights and the inauguration of the nativity scene outside the Cultural Center of La Villa. The Municipal Nativity Scene located in the Plaza del Centro Cultural de la Villa will be open 24 hours a day and can be visited until February 2. Every day at dusk, Candelaria lights up Christmas, illuminating every corner of the town, this 2021 with a colorful decoration, which adds to the decoration of the gardens and urban elements with poinsettias.
The lagoon: A total of 2,800 ornamental elements already illuminate the different neighborhoods and towns of the municipality to safeguard the typical magic of the festivities in these times of pandemic. Among the novelties this year are “the words of optimism” placed in Obispo Rey Redondo street, the eight-meter ball installed in the Plaza de La Catedral and the interactive tree in Plaza del Cristo.
Santa Cruz of Tenerife: The capital of Tenerife has spent 353,919.31 euros in the contracting of the 3.5 million led bulbs that will be used in the 29 kilometers to brighten up 162 streets and squares of Santa Cruz. Although the Christmas decorations are spread over the different streets of the municipality, these are the most recommended areas to walk these days:
- Prince Square. It is the chicharrera candy box, both for the decoration that is placed from the temple to the perimeter of the secluded space and if the neighbor enters the tunnel of light that will be installed again outside.
- Puerta Canseco Square. The garlands placed on the trees stand out; It is a traditional decoration but it is the first time it has been installed there.
- Las Ramblas. There are cones of light that will oscillate between eight and two meters.
- Plazoleta of the Dominican Republic. A giant Christmas tree has been installed.
