A 86-year-old man has been rescued from the water without life in the morning of this sunday when he bathed on the beach of El Médano, in the Tenerife municipality of Granadilla. The man suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest when he bathed. The alert occurred at 11:54 a.m. on December 5.
The lifeguards of the Beach Rescue service took him out of the sea and practiced basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation while the emergency personnel arrived.
Once at the scene of the incident, the personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), in collaboration with the health center doctor, performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results, for which his death was confirmed.
Local Police and Civil Guard personnel also traveled to the place. The Benemérita took charge of the body of the deceased until the arrival of the judicial authority and carried out the corresponding procedures and the Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
