The streets of the Realejo Alto Open Shopping Area They are filled with activity today, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., to encourage purchases in the first major public event of the Christmas campaign. Under the slogan Pa’la Calle, the municipality adapts the format of La Noche Mágica to the times of pandemic and organizes a great fun day with sports exhibitions, fashion shows, children’s attractions, a craft fair, a sample of craft beers, musical performances, a solidarity walk, a large children’s play park, raffles, exhibitions and discounts and offers in a total of 43 commercial and restaurant establishments.

The first deputy mayor and councilor for Commerce of Los Realejos, Adolfo González (PP), and the president of the Los Realejos Merchants Association (Acore), Jorán Torres, were in charge of presenting yesterday the details of an initiative that will develop in the usual environment of magician dances: Doctor González street, Los Remedios avenue, Canarias avenue and La Gomera and El Hierro streets. As a novelty, a new cultural space is set up in Plaza Viera y Clavijo.

They’ll be installed two large stages with limited capacity for artistic and cultural performances and fashion catwalks, “venues for which the prior withdrawal of tickets is necessary.” In addition, there will be four other locations, with small stages, that will host storytelling, children’s shows and acrobatics. A craft fair and local products will be organized with 15 artisans from the island and the Asociación la Papa Bonita de Los Realejos; a charity walk with NGOs; a sample of different sports such as kickboxing, boxing, chess or table tennis; a parallel sample of craft beers with six producers from the island. In all this environment, the use of masks will be mandatory.

There will be a craft fair, fashion shows, an NGO show and a craft beers show.

A section of Avenida de Canarias will be set up as a “great children’s play park with different attractions”; Avenida de Los Remedios will host the traveling exhibition Las Raíces, dedicated to the immigrants welcomed in the lagoon camp, and there will be performances by dance groups and a Zumba marathon in Plaza Viera y Clavijo. This event will be used to integrate the Los Realejos Fashion Show and the delivery of the Agujas de Oro, which has had to be postponed several times this year. This award is awarded in 2021 by a total of 37 seamstresses, of which at least 18 will be present, “for their work in making more than 11,000 masks during the confinement period.”

Jorán Torres recalled that «Shopping in Los Realejos always has a prize“, And that this time customers will be able to participate in” the raffle for several trips between islands and tickets to theme parks. ” In addition, there will be free parking at the back of the Town Hall and the new “scratch card that commercial ambassadors will provide customers with more than one hundred awards in wines and local gastronomy products.”
