The PP denounces that “the Cabildo intends to raise the waste management rate on the Island by 14.5%.” The popular councilor, Valentín González Évora, values: “This blow to the municipalities and citizens is incomprehensible in a context of unprecedented economic crisis like this one.” González adds that “the Cabildo plans to impose this measure, through a regulatory change, as of the second quarter of 2022.”
The counselor emphasizes that “they will raise almost four million euros more, by attacking the pockets of Tenerife people.” González understands that “this Cabildo systematically punishes municipalism, in an unfair and unsupportive way, as is staged with Arico and the Environmental Complex.”
González concludes: “The island government increases its tax collection efforts with this measure, but it continues to be inefficient in the waste recovery process.”
