The PP accuses the Cabildo of “cutting investment in tourist areas by 40%.” Manuel Fernández, deputy insular spokesman, values: “Pedro Martín shows absolute contempt for our main economic activity, in the midst of the worst crisis in the sector in history”
The popular ones accuse the island government, formed by the Socialist Party and Citizens “with the support of Sí Podemos Canarias”, of “a disaster which is added to the low budget execution of the Tourism items of this and previous financial years.”
Fernández has been extremely critical of this decision by the Cabildo government, after learning about the budget document for 2022, in which “we have been able to verify a decrease in investment in tourist areas from 7 to 4 million euros.” This is added – Fernández denounces – to the fact that “in the more than two years that this government has led the Cabildo, the global budget in the field of Tourism has suffered a 25% blow”. This “reveals”, in the opinion of Manuel Fernández, “the absolute contempt that the president of the Cabildo shows for the main economic activity of our Island.”
