The group of CC-PNC of the Tenerife Council warns that the works to widen the third lane on the TF-5 between Los Rodeos and Guamasa they do not have funding for 2022. For the nationalist spokesman, Carlos Alonso, this is a serious error in planning and management “because we are talking about a fundamental work to improve the traffic situation. They are solutions that were foreseen since the previous mandate and that the government team has inexplicably put aside ”.

In this regard, Alonso points out that the works are around 40 million euros and contemplate the remodeling of the Guamasa and San Lázaro links and the construction of a third link. “That was planned since February 2019 and the only thing missing was the agreement with AENA. In November of that year, the Cabildo announced that an agreement had been reached, but the reality is that the action is not foreseen in the 2022 budgets ”.

The CC-PNC spokesperson explains that these works envisage “increasing the third lane by more than two kilometers, solving the access roads on both sides of the highway and demolishing and remaking the two access links to the airport and Guamasa to increase the capacity of the road in that first section of the highway ”.

“This action together with those planned in the Padre Anchieta roundabout, the access to the TF-24 -which have been delayed for two years- and the improvement of the different links between the Lora and Tamayo and San Benito area that were carried out in the previous mandate, they developed a first phase of actions. To these should be added those of the BUS HOV lane, expanding one lane of the highway to La Orotava. This project also suffered a significant delay in this mandate when its drafting by the PSOE government was paralyzed, not being in the short-term execution forecasts, ”concludes Carlos Alonso.
