Candelaria announces Christmas tomorrow with more lights (LEDs) than ever

Candelaria The Christmas period will start tomorrow with the lighting of lights -this year the budget has increased from 70,000 to about 110,000 euros- and the inauguration of the Nativity Scene outside the Cultural Center of La Villa, an appointment that has become essential for many visitors .

This was announced by the mayor, Mari Brito, at the press conference, where she made it clear that the restrictions due to COVID-19 will be maintained, and also announced, as president of Fecam, that “although there are municipalities that are waiting of being able or not to organize an end-of-year festival, I am afraid that with the current rates of contagion, Public Health will not allow it ”.

The christmas program It will take place from December 3 to January 5 with more than 100 activities aimed at the whole family, with special emphasis on commercial stimulation and cultural activities. A few Christmas dates in which the Island of La Palma will be very present, so on January 2 the Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias, will host the solidarity concert Unidos por La Palma with performances by Los Sabandeños, Lucrecia, Efecto Pasillo, Braulio, Ciro Corujo, Luis Morera, Chago Melián, Pieles, Morocho, Víctor Estárico, Claudia Álamo, María Mérida, Andrea Rodríguez, Israel Martín, Africa Alonso and other artists.

Previously, the Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias will host the Besay Pérez concert, on December 18, and the musical evening Kinds and Swing in Christmas Mood, on the 19th. These are the first concerts in the square since March 2020 decree the state of alarm for the coronavirus.

Among the outstanding events is the Fantasy Tour that will run from December 27 to January 4 through the eight main towns of the municipality, bringing the Christmas illusion to the little ones. And there will be no lack of Santa Claus who on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 will move to the Old Cinema where he will receive the boys and girls of the municipality.

One of the most anticipated events will be the arrival of the Three Wise Men from the East who, like last year, taking into account the sanitary circumstances, will visit every corner of the municipality on January 5 from 5:00 p.m.
