SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
On November 29, the 16th ‘Canarias’ Brigade (BRICAN XVI), collaborating with Cáritas Parroquial Castrense de Gran Canaria, delivered 22 tablets to the Los Llanos de Aridane City Council, one of those affected by the volcano eruption.
This collaboration has been possible thanks to the solidarity and commitment of civilian personnel, as well as military personnel from BRICAN XVI and the rest of the Canary Islands Command, who through their personal contributions have made it possible.
In particular, the initiative and contribution of the Canarian components included in the Spanish contingent Support to Turkey AT XIV currently deployed in that country, belonging to the Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment No. 94, has been very significant.
This staff organized a charity raffle among all the members of the contingent, obtaining a significant financial amount that was remitted to Cáritas Castrense to carry out this solidarity action with the staff affected by the volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma.
The 22 tablets and their protective covers have been made available to the Los Llanos de Aridane City Council, through the Councilor for Culture, María del Rosario González Palmero. These tablets will be given to school-age children who require it, due to the losses suffered as a result of the eruption. In addition, part of these will be distributed among the elderly of the town, who have been affected by having their social center been buried by lava.
