In these seven years, the program has offered more than three thousand business opportunities to companies on the Island.
“Tenerife Licita intends to project the island’s companies abroad and gain a space in international tenders, thus ensuring that local companies generate employment and diversify their productive fabric,” said the CEO of Foreign Action, Liskel Álvarez, in the valuation press conference of the last year of this platform.
Tenerife Licita, he said, “is an opportunity to approach investments proposed by multilateral organizations, a market that moves more than 140,000 million euros and where there are no defaults, such as the World Bank, the United Nations, the Inter-American Development Bank or the African Bank. developmental”. The CEO recalled that this Thursday, within the Tenerife Licita program, a conference entitled ‘Win contracts with the UN’ will be held in which practical advice will be given for the preparation of successful offers from specialists in international tenders. The conference will take place at the Real Casino de Tenerife in person from 10:00 am.
The president of the Foreign Trade Commission of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Chamber of Commerce, Arturo Escuder, indicated that this program “has become an authentic regional and national benchmark as a model for promoting internationalization in a grouped manner, even reaching be adopted by other public institutions “.
Regarding the novelties implemented in 2021, the strengthening of the team by offering two technicians in international tenders give daily support to the service, or that the program is now 100% managed by the Chamber of Commerce. In addition to this, two new services have been offered, a Strategic Training and Consulting program for access to the UN market in which ten companies participate, and an ex-post review service for non-winning offers.
Looking ahead to next year, Tenerife Licita will participate in the European Procurement Forum event, which will include a visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York, where companies will be able to meet directly with those responsible for purchasing their product or service. And a new call for the Strategic Training and Consulting Program for access to the UN market, aimed at a total of 5 participating companies.
