Iberia Express It reinforces the capacity for the Christmas season by adding a total of 93 roundtrip flights and about 34,000 additional seats for the days between December 20 and January 10. Especially, strengthens the connectivity of Canary Islands with 73 roundtrip flights that will operate between Iberia Express and its parent Iberia, getting to have 4% more capacity than Christmas 2019.
Thomas Weimann, Iberia Express Network and Program Manager, comments that “on such special dates, we want to reinforce the connectivity of the Canary Islands, so that Canaries, their families and tourists enjoy this time traveling. Our capacity during these dates will become up to 10 roundtrip flights between Madrid and Gran Canaria, up to 11 daily also to Tenerife, or up to 4 to Lanzarote, and this is a clear example of our commitment to the territory ”.
Specifically, in Canary Islands, The airline has increased its capacity this Christmas by 18% thanks to the reinforcement flights, becoming the largest capacity that the Iberia Group has put in place for these dates in its history, in its clear commitment to providing the greatest connectivity to the islands on such special dates. In this sense, the Group has introduced larger-caliber A330-200 aircraft – with capacity for up to 288 passengers- To operate some of these routes and in those days when there was a great demand, additional flights have been scheduled at less crowded times in order to be able to provide flights at more adjusted prices.
Among flights operated by Iberia Express and Iberia, the program adds 23 additional round trips to Gran Canaria, 26 to Tenerife (7 to the North airport and 19 to the South), 21 additional to Lanzarote; and 2 and 1 to Fuerteventura and La Palma, respectively. During this festive season, A total of 180,000 seats will be offered on all the airline’s routes to the Canary Islands, representing 4% more than Christmas of the year 2019.
Other national and international destinations add additional frequencies
On the peninsula, Iberia Express It also reinforces its routes to Seville and Santiago, with 4 and 2 additional roundtrip flights, respectively. Internationally, the airline also increases flights for the most important days and will have 11 additional flights to Dublin, doubling the number of seats that will be offered in the Christmas period. They also incorporate reinforcement flights in cities such as Berlin, Copenhagen or Manchester.

More capacity on the December ‘bridge’
Between December 2 and 8, on the occasion of the national holidays for the Constitution Day and the Immaculate Day, Iberia Express has reinforced its program with additional flights on the routes between Madrid and Gran Canaria -with 4 flights of additional roundtrip-; 2 in Tenerife (1 TFN and 1 TFS), and 1 additional flight to Lanzarote. In European destinations, the airline is reinforced with 2 extra flights to Copenhagen and another 2 to Naples.
