Arrested in Tenerife for growing more than 460 marijuana plants at home



Civil Guard agents belonging to the Main Post of Granadilla de Abona, within the framework of the Mellir operation, have arrested a man from whom 461 marijuana plants that he had grown in his home were seized for later sale. This person had already been arrested in 2017 for the same criminal act (drug trafficking), when 1,453 marijuana plants were seized.

The events date back to last October, when the Civil Guard agents detected how several people and on a regular basis, after accessing the interior of the garage of a house located in said municipality, a few minutes later they left the place carrying sacks of trash.

After the agents identified two of the people who had entered the house, they discovered that when they left the house, they were carrying three marijuana plants hidden in a garbage bag, stating that they had bought them inside the house and pointing to their owner. like the person who had sold them to him.

After the agents gathered the necessary evidence, the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Granadilla de Abona authorized the entry and search in the house, locating the agents inside a total of 461 plants of supposed marijuana in different phases of flowering, as well as 301 grams of what appeared to be marijuana buds ready for sale, a precision scale and various material for growing the substance.

In accordance with the facts set forth above, the agents proceeded to the immediate arrest of the alleged perpetrator, who is accused of a crime against public health, in the form of drug trafficking. The detainee, together with the proceedings, have been made available to the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Granadilla de Abona.
