Those affected by the traffic jams on the Autopista del Norte (TF-5) propose to celebrate the day of the gadgets on this road in a very original way: by ringing a pot at 07:00 on Monday, November 29, within the framework of the Festivity of San Andrés.
The ancestral tradition of tying cans and boats of all kinds to a yard or string that are then dragged through streets and squares has special relevance in the La Orotava Valley, from where hundreds of drivers leave every day who lose several hours a day in the highway due to the number of cars that move at rush hour towards the metropolitan area collapsing the TF-5.
The initiative has been convened through social networks, anonymously with the slogan ‘The North does move’ and is intended to also serve to protest against the collapse they have suffered daily for decades. “Let the people of the North be heard,” reads the poster with the advertisement.
