The local general secretary of the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Alfonso Cabello, understands that municipal management in this capital “demonstrates one of our strengths as an organization, which has to do with management capacity and commitment to citizenship that voted for us the majority in 2019 ”and adds that“ a citizenry that does not pursue anything other than to put ourselves in front of their problems and demands, where the priority is employment and aid to the most vulnerable families in this municipality ”.
“To the Local Committee held this Wednesday in person -states the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez-, after more than 23 months without seeing each other, I want to send an extensive message to all our affiliates and affiliates about the need to continue working tirelessly in favor of the residents of our municipality ”.
Bermúdez maintains that “the absence of leadership by the president of the Cabildo, the also socialist Pedro Martín, has its consequences also in the metropolitan area, since aid is conspicuous by its absence beyond what is mandatory” and argues that “without having taking into account that our municipality is the locomotive of economic recovery in Tenerife, with employment contracts above the Canary Islands average and in many months with more than 33% of the entire island, which would require more generous support for part of the PSOE in the Insular Institution ”.
For his part, Alfonso Cabello was blunt when stating that “we will defend ourselves from the continuous attacks that Patricia Hernández launch at us and the worst, without a doubt, the PSOE in the entire history of Santa Cruz, with whom it is absolutely impossible to even speak. that is installed in the sterile political row “and argued that” it is a political party that does only one thing very well, being the opposition, so we predict many years in this situation, precisely because of its absence of a city project and that he demonstrated in the lost year for Santa Cruz when he governed ”.
“Regarding the budget execution -ahonda Cabello-, it should be noted that while in the Santa Cruz City Council we have increased the execution in the investment chapter by 300% compared to last year, which places us in October around 50 %, in this same heading the Cabildo has not executed 200 million of investment, leaving its accounts with 24% only executed “and in the Canarian national sphere” the regional government has only executed 20% in this chapter; that is, to comply they should spend almost 10 million euros a day until the end of the year ”.
