The Governing Council of the Canary Islands held this Thursday approved, at the proposal of the Ministry of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, the item for the new tender for the emergency helicopter contract for 53,736,905.40 euros for the period between the end of 2022 and the year 2027.
These 53.7 million euros will be distributed as follows: 1,772,630.68 euros for the months of November and December 2022, four annual items of 10,635,784.08 euros each between 2023 and 2026, and 9,421. 138.40 euros for the year 2027, which includes 10% as a credit reserve on the maximum or indicative spending budget for flight hours to be performed, which amounts to 557,985.
The aerial means of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Emergency and Rescue Group, guarantee the defense and protection of nature, the environment, the landscape and biodiversity, both in terrestrial and marine spaces, with tasks of surveillance, prevention and fire fighting, as well as the fight against marine pollution.
They also guarantee the provision of prompt health care, including the rescue of people.
On September 2, the Governing Council authorized the one-year extension of the contract, until October 31, 2022, for an amount of 6.47 million euros in order to process the tender for this new contract, which is in progress. publication course.
