SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Tonight the Dial Awards Gala welcomes the premiere of ‘Virgen de las Nieves’ by Melendi, her new song that is a tribute in the form of poetry to all those who are suffering the scourge of the volcano on the island of La Palma (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjVE_ixYc_I).
It will be on the 25th anniversary of the Awards that are held one more year in Tenerife. All the money raised by the song (through the phonographic and editorial rights) will go to the victims of La Palma, who will receive aid through the Fundación Canaria Taburiente Especial (Funcataes).
Funcataes is a non-profit organization, based in Los Llanos de Aridane, whose purpose is to collaborate with the care of people with intellectual disabilities, providing the beneficiaries of its activity with educational and assistance means that favor their socio-labor integration. At present, it cares for many people with disabilities and their families or guardians, who are suffering firsthand the consequences of the volcano’s eruption.
The initiative was born as a result of a conversation between Miquel Corral, director of Cadena Dial, and Melendi himself. “When I called Ramón to propose, he didn’t even think about it,” Corral says about the artist’s predisposition to join this idea promoted by Cadena Dial. Melendi has composed this song full of feelings, pain, but also hope; a song of pure solidarity with those who are having such a bad time on the Canary Island. “La Palma is crying with tears of fire, dancing with the soul of uncertainty and dressed in fear”, sings the Asturian artist.
In this way, ‘Virgen de las Nieves’ can be heard at the Dial Awards Gala, an event that will bring together the great stars of Spanish music on the same stage, as it has been doing for the last 25 years. Along with Melendi will perform artists of the stature of Pablo Alborán, Malú, David Bisbal, Rozalén, Raphael, Luis Fonsi, Vanesa Martín, Estopa, Sergio Dalma, Beret, India Martínez, Antonio Orozco, Álvaro Soler, Antonio José, Ana Guerra, Cepeda , David Demaría or Dvicio.
