Members of the National Police assigned to the Judicial Police Brigade established a device against the sale of counterfeit products in the main tourist area in the South of Tenerife, specifically in the municipalities of Arona and Adeje. The police device resulted in seven people arrested, of different nationalities, for the alleged responsibility of individual crimes against industrial property.
The products that pretended to belong to prestigious brands were located in commercial establishments in the centers of Playa de las Américas and Costa Adeje. Among the individuals arrested are three of Spanish nationality, a Chinese, a Hindu and a Pakistani, according to information provided yesterday by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Provincial Police Station.
On November 10, officials of the National Police Force established a security device in shops in Adeje and Arona aimed at preventing and preventing the sale of counterfeit products, which appeared to be from prestigious brands and which were distributed at a price below the of the original effects of the aforementioned firms.
In this action, said agents had the participation of several experts of those brands, who accompanied the first in the practice of the diligences that they carried out and that ratified the intervention. The agents detained seven people and intervened more than 2,000 products of prestigious brands, such as, for example, sunglasses, clothing or electronic devices, apparently fake.
These products, if legal, would have reached a value of more than 200,000 euros on the market. The actions carried out, through the report made for this purpose, were made available to the Investigating Court that was acting as Guard in the Arona district. The actions were carried out by members of the Judicial Police Brigade of the South Tenerife Police Station.
A citizen of Chinese origin was also arrested in September by the National Police in Santa Cruz de Tenerife as the alleged perpetrator of the distribution of tens of thousands of counterfeit products from an industrial warehouse located in the El Mayorazgo industrial estate.
