SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The 24-hour monitoring volcanic surveillance network of the National Geographic Institute (IGN) registered an earthquake of magnitude 4.7 (mbLg) on La Palma last morning that has been felt in many parts of the island.
This event was located at 5:24 am to the southwest of the municipality of Villa de Mazo, at a depth of 37 kilometers, and was felt with a maximum intensity of IV on the European EMS scale.
Specifically, this tremor was felt in El Paso, Villa de Mazo, Los Llanos de Aridane, Tazacorte, Puntagorda, Santa Cruz de La Palma, Breña Baja, Breña Alta and Tijarafe.
Just a minute earlier, at 5:23 am, another 3.8 mbLg earthquake was recorded in the same place, at a depth of 39 kilometers, felt with a maximum intensity of IV EMS.
Since last midnight, a total of 21 earthquakes have been registered on the island, practically the same number of earthquakes that were located yesterday, one of them occurred at 06.56 hours, of magnitude 5.0 mbLg and felt with an intensity IV -V in La Palma, Tenerife and La Gomera.
