In the Aula Magna of the University of La Laguna in Guajara, around 80 heads of entities and groups met who presented the experiences of 2021, in order to plan actions for next year within the Strategic Framework of Actions in Gender Equality Policies Tenerife Violeta (METV).
De León appreciates that this type of action “demonstrates the importance of our Network, one of the best in the Canary Islands and Spain.” He encouraged “to continue working with the support between entities to promote equality.”
During the day the collaborative work projects carried out this year with entities such as Femete and Fifede, the El Rosario City Council and the Asociación Factoría Social were presented. Subsequently, the participants met in three groups to determine, through collaborative work, a total of 14 projects to carry out next year.
The Tenerife Violeta Island Network for Gender Equality (RIIGTV) encompasses a set of public and private entities of different nature –Institutional, economic and social– committed to equal opportunities in Tenerife. This commitment implies a horizontal collaborative work between all the entities that belong to RIIGTV, including the Cabildo.
Likewise, the Strategic Framework of Actions in Gender Equality Policies Tenerife Violeta is the instrument of the policies of real equality of opportunities between women and men on the Island, with the impulse of the Cabildo. It is configured as the basic tool to articulate and define priorities in the development of public policies aimed at promoting that equality.
Last May, the Cabildo, together with 80 public and private entities, including municipalities, third sector organizations and companies, signed the agreement to adhere to the II Strategic Framework of Actions in Gender Equality Policies Tenerife Violeta 2020-2025.
