The Santiago del Teide City Council has presented a new edition of the “Agents of Change 2021” campaign, the activities of which are organized to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women -November 25-.
Thus, this campaign will begin on Monday, November 15, with the provision of the “Rincón Violeta” reading space in municipal libraries, which will be available for your enjoyment until November 26.
It will be on November 22, 24 and 29 when the Tamaimo Social Center will host, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., the activity “Círculo de Mujeres Ágora”, which will have the speaker Elena Pérez Jerónimo and which has limited capacity, having to make the corresponding prior registration by calling 922 86 31 27, Ext. 220 .
On Monday, November 22, on the other hand, the placement of the sensitizing staircase will take place in the public square of Santiago del Teide on the occasion of the commemoration of the World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women -25N-.
Likewise, on November 23 and 24, the gender expert sociologist Patricia G. Ojeda will give various educational and awareness-raising talks aimed at 2nd and 3rd year ESO students at IES Tamaimo.
On Thursday, November 25, for its part, from 12: 00H. the reading of the manifesto will be carried out outside the City Hall on the occasion of the celebration of the World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women; highlighting that, later, the contemporary dance show “Desencadenar” will take place, which will be performed by Carmen Macías -dancer, choreographer and dance teacher graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in England-. Finally, the council’s social networks will host the projection of a commemorative video whose theme will be to raise awareness of the importance of non-transmission, in the youth population, of sexist attitudes and content through social networks.
On Saturday, November 27, starting at 6:00 p.m., the Tamaimo Social Center will host a sample of the finalist short films of the Canary Islands Women’s Film Festival “Women Time!” will proceed to carry out the awards ceremony to the winners of the II Contest of Short Stories Against Gender Violence ”and the I TikTok Contest“ Woman you had to be.
