Sepca has gone from five delegates on the Personnel Board to thirteen. For its part, the CGT has achieved 37.29% of the votes, which means obtaining nine delegates, two more than the seven it had. The UGT regains representation after a while and from not having any, it passes to one after achieving 5.78% of the support of the workers.

There were two tables in the Insular Palace, another two in the Santiago Martín Pavilion, one in the old Telefónica Building, in La Cruz del Señor de Santa Cruz and the last in Museums. Except in La Hamburguesa where the CGT prevailed, Sepca won the rest. The civil servants’ union has congratulated the other forces and offers the intention of “working on common issues creating the necessary synergies to foster dialogue and understanding.”

The first thing that the winners have done is “thank their colleagues for their responsibility, civic spirit and participation” also those who have participated in the elections or the department responsible for the legal system. They do not forget the Cabildo itself as an institution.

From the first day of his victory, Sepca has requested the constitution of the General Board of Official Personnel with two points to be discussed: the 2016 Public Employment Offer, which is a bit late, and the Incentive for the Retirement of the Personnel itself Official,

The union elections have been contested by several unions that did not appear to them. For example, Intersindical Canaria (IC) and the CSIF. The reason is that they should have been held in principle in February 2022. However, Sepca requested that they take place now and the law has protected the measure. Finally, the CGT union withdrew the day before this challenge to the process. This is something totally valid although Sepca, according to the sources, would have “contradicted an agreement of the board to postpone the elections to February 2022.”

In another order, in the last ordinary plenary session, on October 29, the Cabildo has initially approved the telework regulations for its staff. Teleworking is thus established in a stable and permanent way in the island corporation. A model that with the pandemic has come to stay. Of course, they point from the Cabildo, with “planning objectives” as a starting point and the voluntariness that state law establishes today.
